What Are Polymarket's Fees in 2026?

Polymarket does not impose any platform trading fee. Your only expenses consist of Polygon gas fees (usually less than $0.01 per transaction) and any fees charged by your exchange when you convert USDC into GBP. This positions Polymarket amongst the most cost-effective prediction markets for traders in the UK.

Trading Fees: Zero

In contrast to conventional sportsbooks that embed a margin (overround) into their offerings, Polymarket operates via an AMM-style order book where liquidity providers determine the spread. Polymarket itself does not levy an explicit "vig". Instead, you encounter the spread implicitly, which tightens as additional liquidity enters the market.

Gas Fees on Polygon

Every Polymarket transaction executes on the Polygon PoS blockchain, with gas costs denominated in MATIC and generally ranging from $0.001 to $0.02 per transaction independent of your position's magnitude. The savings relative to Ethereum mainnet are substantial.

  • Opening a trade: ~$0.003–0.01
  • Closing a trade or settling: ~$0.003–0.01
  • Moving USDC to your own wallet: ~$0.005–0.02
  • Cross-chain transfer (Polygon → Ethereum): $5–20 (best avoided unless unavoidable)

Deposit Fees

Sending USDC directly onto Polygon incurs no charge from Polymarket. However, your bank or exchange may impose a withdrawal fee to move USDC to the Polygon network. Coinbase typically charges ~$0.01–1 depending on how busy the network is. Opting for the native Polygon USDC network keeps your expenses down.

Currency Conversion Costs (GBP ↔ USDC)

UK-based users encounter their most significant expense at this stage. A full cycle of conversion (GBP → USDC → GBP) through a reputable exchange normally incurs 0.5–1.5% in total costs, encompassing both the exchange's bid-ask spread.
